Every Game Should Implement Suspended Save

I’m going to suggest a radical idea. Every game should allow you to save at any point. Shock! Now obviously some games are better suited to a checkpoint system and quite often it’s personal taste. I've just read Game Post-Mortem – Half-Life:Episode One. It's certainly an interesting read with some interesting ideas. However, I feel that it perhaps isn't as coherent a set of ideas as the author would like. Their evaluation of episodic content – that it perhaps only encourages formulaic and minimal advances – is certainly quite true. [...]
